This was kind of a hair-brained project in that I used a $12 set of screw on “macro filters” I bought from Amazon and proves you don’t need a lot of expensive equipment to get some good results. It’s a set of four, so doing the math that makes them a whopping $3 each. I believe the magnification is 2x, 4x, 8x & 10x. I used the 10x because I wanted to get reeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyy close. The coins were just balanced on the dining room table with a white sheet of paper in the background. Natural light was used coupled with I think the hanging light above the table and they were shot with a Nikon d7100 and the 35mm, 1.8 lens.
